DIOCESE
Fortrose bids farewell n Friday 20 January a thanksgiving Mass took
place in Fortrose, Black Isle, for Bishop Emeritus
to Bishop Peter OPeter Moran.
Bishop Peter is leaving the Highlands at the end of January,
and moving to Aberdeen, to be closer to his sister, Sr Elizabeth
Moran who left Fortrose a short time ago for a care home in
Aberdeen.
Bishop Peter Moran had been resident at Fortrose for 11
years of his retirement while assisting the parishes of the
diocese when called upon.
The Mass was celebrated at the Church of St Peter and St
Boniface in Fortrose and was followed by a reception for the
departing bishop.
During his time in Fortrose Bishop Peter has helped edit
several publications including The Chatterbox, a Black Isle
quarterly publication and, not least, our very own diocesan
magazine, The Light of the North.
He and his sister, Sr Elizabeth Moran, will be greatly missed.
Nevertheless, Bishop Peter is looking forward to the next
chapter of his busy life as an established octogenarian in
Aberdeen.
